Sunny Day, Sunflowers; Two Daggers - concept, sketch

3:07 pm EST

It's sunny and warm out so I had the sudden inspiration of drawing sunflowers.
I don't know why I thought of flowers though since at that point of inspiration, I was walking down the hallway in my dorm and there weren't flowers visible. Perhaps I unconsciously thought about allergies and pollen?

I was bored and trying to figure out what to draw. Some way or another I thought of the pose and then drew in the daggers.

I just finished writing a 3rd rough draft of a research paper for one of my finals. Hoping I can get it done soon so I can use that time to study for a cumulative final exam.

Spring Lab/Showcase for IMM Program

12:51 AM EST
(IMM = Interactive Multimedia )

We (IMM Dept. and its students) held our annual Spring Lab ('showcase' of  students' work such as games from Games course, senior thesis projects of the seniors this year, animations, video, physical computing, apps, websites, etc).

As I am a senior and part of the Games course, I had Concept Art Cubes (my senior thesis) and Hawk- Z (my group project). Below are a few screenshots of the game my group has been working on this (entire school) year. Planning during the first semester (fall), implementation ,building and making of the game the 2nd semester (spring). I take no credit in the character and enemy models.
My part in the project included the animatic, concept art and terrain building (mountains, trees, etc). You can see what each member of the group did towards the project.

The lab itself was pretty successful I'd say. On a personal standpoint, my senior thesis' project concept and concept art were praised by friends. fellow IMM students and guests who came by to see the projects. Additionally, my group's game (Hawk-Z) got praised as well, appearance and challenge-ness. I personally saw only 3 people who actually "beat" our game One of which said he had to actually play our game seriously to beat it. The game might have been a little too  hard, but at the same time, many of the people who played the game didn't read the instructions...

Making a daily goal to sketch poses

I started making a goal for myself to draw poses and gestures (using a random timed poses and gestures drawing site) at least every day. So far I missed a day but below are the sketches from those 30 min sessions. To the side, it's a pose I believe I sketched for the 1st session and altered it slightly before coloring it.

Playing with Terrain Toolkit in Unity

5:37 pm EST
As level/terrain designer of my group for the Games class I'm in, I tried out the Terrain Toolkit asset one of my members wanted me to research and it is amazing!

Just a few screenshots of a few things I threw together - Terrain Toolkit, Skybox, grass textures painted on , Mini-Palm-Trees-Made-Into-Bushes. Yea...

Balance in Haven - remaining images colored!

11:52 pm EST

After having lost a day due to possibly getting a sinus infection which turned into a fever, I finally caught up in some work I wanted to get done yesterday! The images aren't in order but they're parts of Act 4 - 6.

Balance in Haven - most of Act 3 colored

12:30 AM EST
I was able to get a lot of the coloring done today (as in yesterday...) before my evening class and meeting (elections for executive board).

Going off on a tangent, the elections took a lot longer than they should have, given that many of the positions were running unopposed... but question & discussion took up a lot of time due to one person's questions and phrasing as well as term usage. This was to the point where the person used terms that most of the people (except for 1 person) knew what that person was talking about because they were the same major. Basically, instead of being straight to the point and clear, the questions or comments before the said questions were long winded and took up too much time. The whole elections process took 1 1/2 hours when it prob, at latest should have only taken 45 minutes to 1 hour.
But I rant and digress..

The images below are part of Act 3; currently there's one more image that needs to be colored to complete Act 3 before moving onto Act 4.

4:02 pm EST

It's only the first few images of Act 4 since I realized that I never colored the images for the flashing lights.
I still don't know how I feel about the "flash on" image...I was thinking of adding a glow instead of these sharp lines but that wouldn't really show a flashing light in my opinion.
