The layout of the concept art/sketch is based off of Legend of Legends' splash art but the staff, character and background/backdrop are purely from my mind (as it wandered around while thinking about the staff).
I had a difficult time deciding on how the character should look like and have it correlate with the staff well enough. I think her clothing will have to be the one helping with the connection as well as colors. I'm thinking gold, yellow and dark orange for the whole concept art.
Taking a break from musing over the character poses led me to brainstorming the backdrop which at first was going to be more of an eastern theme but ended up being an odd...city in the mountains? Not quite sure what my brain was thinking. I may go back and brainstorm some more.
Originally I was thinking of an eastern appearance for the backdrop but while sketching it became more...western.
After seeing Weebly get updates, I decided to clean up my site a little more, especially in structuring the pages. For example, if you check out the "Social Media & Previous Blogs" or the "Portfolio & Bio" page, it's not a large amount of text that requires a lot of scrolling! I plan to do the same for my portfolio site.
Still tryin to figure out a pose ( and now clothing as well) for the character design/ concept.
So far I've been aiming for the staff to be behind the girl and for her to have long hair. Clothing is still in the works though. Background ideas consist of temples and light gold themed colors..
Really hoping I can at least sketch out this concept this weekend!
The summer courses I'm taking now run only through Mon - Thurs (with an exception of one class, that has 2 Fridays....). In theory, I would have weekends free but unfortunately this weekend is preoccupied with studying for the midterm for one of my classes. We'll have to see about next weekend; at the moment I don't think I have something due after Memorial Day Weekend but I could be forgetting an large assignment.Here's hoping!!
Decorated my cap for graduation tomorrow!
Added a group projects section on my portfolio site. In other news ~ my finals are done for this semester. Now I need to finish packing and move out of the dorms.Onward to the weekend and a moment's relaxation before moving back to dorms for summer courses and graduation!
Sadly, I've got to study for my finals so as a result, this means no time to sketch or draw....Though I might have time after my final Wednesday night. We'll see. No promises at all!

It's sunny and warm out so I had the sudden inspiration of drawing sunflowers.
I don't know why I thought of flowers though since at that point of inspiration, I was walking down the hallway in my dorm and there weren't flowers visible. Perhaps I unconsciously thought about allergies and pollen?
I was bored and trying to figure out what to draw. Some way or another I thought of the pose and then drew in the daggers.
2:04 am EST Finals.I just finished writing a 3rd rough draft of a research paper for one of my finals. Hoping I can get it done soon so I can use that time to study for a cumulative final exam.
