Scenery - Police storming hideout part 1

Original (as far as I know of consciously ) Scenery

Total time (not including breaks for meals & meeting up with friends) : Almost 3 hours

Used only two brushes, Real 2B for sketch, Detailed Airbrush for coloring.

Sadly, I had a much clearer and more detailed version in my mind but time just wouldn't permit to finish this for classes start (tomorrow...).
Things I would have done / added -

- more glow off of the items closest to the machine with the 3 rings

- metallic appearance off the bars

- better "walls"

- different shades for bricks

These ideas really do come to me randomly, usually when I'm trying to fall asleep. I think I was starting to think about what sort of scenery I could attempt to draw and color to fit the different game genres. Somehow I got this in my mind and it could honestly even work for my fan fiction-soon-own-story-with-no-copyright-issues.

Though I don't know how much he likes (or hates..) Navi, I decided to work around the joke of Navi being so annoying. Literally, Navi is just saying "Hey Listen!" a bunch of times before finally saying "It's your birthday !", haha.

... Realizing now that the second "Birthday" looks like 'Earthday"...

Original Character - Temporary name; still working on name.

After yesterday's test with watercolors for coloring, I really liked how the appearance turned out and wanted to color another drawing in with watercolors.

For this one though, I ended up using the Soft Pressure Airbrush to add in the "circle/dots" on the water.

All done in Corel Painter 12.

Sketch probably didn't take more than 30mins - 1 hr. The outlining + coloring took about 1 hr and 18 mins.  I probably would have taken less with the coloring if I didn't have issues with trying to get a good background. (In the video, you might see me trying out different brushes for the background but all of them left a streak behind the watercolor sadly.)

Original Character - name isn't really set in stone...(I named the guy when I was in late middle school, which was at least 8 years ago.)

Pose reference from Posemaniacs - one of the fighting poses

I wanted to try coloring in a drawing with solely watercolor, to see how well (or badly...) I'd do with them.

Sketched using 2B pencil, outlined in sharp colored pencil and then colored everything with various watercolor brushes.
All done in Corel Painter 12.
Whole drawing took almost 3 hours.

Original Character - sketch - Blade part 5 (final)

I decided to try recording another drawing - this time a person rather than a landscape/scenery.



Original Character - sketch, coloring - Blade

Character, hover board - colored with airbrush

Background - drawn & colored with watercolor

- I pretty much winged the whole background coloring due to not really knowing what to use for watercolor brushes (you'll see in the video recording).

I actually never set in stone (or at least in my mind) what color his clothes were...

Total time spent (coloring)  - a little over 4 hours

Recording

- Found out Adobe After Effects doesn't take videos over 3hrs... Luckily I had Windows Movie Maker.

- I want to try having it playback at 32x the speed but for some reason Windows Live Movie Maker isn't showing the correct images for the recording around 7min 40 sec mark. YET for 64x playback speed, everything is there....but the video ends up being only 3 mins 52 seconds.

Drew in the clothes for the more part - made a few edits (such as the hands) and will have to fix the eyes.

Fleshed out the very basic skeletal figure I had in part 1.

Next up would be adding in the clothes and then finalizing the sketch.
